Ingredients

  • 1/4 Ounces active dry yeast ((1 package / 7 grams))
  • 450 Milliliters warm water
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • 3 Teaspoons oil
  • 750 Grams flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm (not hot) water and let stand 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add oil, salt and most of the flour. Mix and knead 8–10 minutes, adding only enough flour to keep dough workable.
  3. Cover in an oiled bowl and rise until doubled, around 60–90 minutes. Shape into two loaves and rise again until visibly puffy.
  4. Bake in a 190°C / 375°F oven approximately 30–40 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding; an internal temperature around 93°C / 200°F indicates baked bread. Cool before slicing.
